Start thinking of choosing your wedding dress around eight months to a year before the wedding. Most gowns take around six months to be made and you’d like to have your gown arrive at least two or three months before the wedding. If you have less time, do not worry, we have several designers that we work very closely with who can make a gown much sooner upon request. We also have sample gowns available in both boutiques available to take away with you on the day. Your wedding dress is an important factor in the styling of your big day because of this, it is a good idea to make the dress one of the first purchases.

Yes, call us or email us to book an appointment so that we can spend at least an hour of uninterrupted time with you.

 

  • Saturday appointments require a £30 booking fee in London and £25 in Hitchin. These are paid upon booking. 
  • Evening appointments are available upon request, these require a £30 appointment fee in both stores.
  • There is a £15 appointment fee during the week in both boutiques.
  • The booking fee is non-refundable on cancellation, however is deductible against the purchase of your gown with us.

We kindly ask that brides bring one VIP guest. The maximum we can accommodate is two guests.

At Morgan Davies, we encourage brides to only take photographs of their favourite gowns. There will be an opportunity to take photos at the end of your appointment.

 

Skype/Facetime/Zoom calls are allowed during your appointment.

Most of our sample’s range from a UK 10 – UK 14. We also have a selection gowns in a UK 16+ in both boutiques.

It is a good idea for you to let us know your UK dress size when booking your appointment.

In the Hitchin boutique our made-to-order styles start from £900 up to £3500.

In the London boutique our made-to-order gowns start from £900 up to £7000, however most are between £1400-£3500.

We also have a fabulous range of sample gowns available to take away with you on the day in both stores. These start from £400.

Morgan Davies have a selection of shoes for brides to use during their appointment.

We recommend that brides wear ivory/nude underwear to try gowns on.

When you purchase your gown, we will give you a list of our recommended seamstresses and tailors. We recommend that all brides start their alterations 6-8 weeks (depending on when your gown is due to arrive) before your big day.

 

Once your gown arrives, you will have a pre-fitting appointment to try on your dress, look at accessories and pay your balance.

 

All of our seamstresses have worked with our dresses for many years and are familiar with all of our gowns. They are all flexible around your busy schedules and most are available during evenings and weekends. They will only charge you for what you need.

 

All alterations are payable directly to your chosen seamstress and is an additional cost.

 

IMPORTANT – you will always need to take the shoes and underwear that you plan to wear on your wedding day to all your fittings.
