It’s an absolute pleasure to introduce you to Beth: our beautiful Morgan Davies bride. We know that finding ‘the dress’ is one of the most important things for your big day. So, we’ve spoken to the beautiful Bethany to understand more about how she found her dream gown and discover all about her gorgeous wedding at Tewinbury Farm in Welwyn, Hertfordshire.
How did you hear about Morgan Davies Bridal and what made you book that first appointment?
I had seen Morgan Davies in Brides magazine and instantly loved the look of the dress in the advert. A friend of mine had also bought her dress from there a year before and had looked beautiful on her big day. A quick look online and a browse through the designers they stocked convinced me that this was the place I would need to go to get the kind of unique wedding dress I was after. I knew that Morgan Davies had a shop fairly near to me in Hitchin so I requested an appointment online.
Finding Annasul Y in Hertfordshire…
The whole experience was lovely, from start to finish. We were welcomed at the shop but also given lots of time to browse and look through the dresses at our leisure. I picked a selection of dresses and the Morgan Davies Bridal Consultant, Philippa, also suggested a few I might like based on the kind of style I wanted. The whole team were so helpful – so complimentary but also very constructive and full of good suggestions.
I never felt pressured into trying anything I didn’t want to, and it didn’t take long until I had found ‘the dress’; Madame Butterfly by Annasul Y, which encapsulated the vintage bohemian look I had wanted.
What was your favourite part of the whole bridal experience?
My favourite part of the experience was stepping out of the changing room in my dress and hearing such lovely comments from the team. Then Philippa found the perfect veil to go with my dress and I knew there and then that my search was over. My florist, Stephanie Rose, was also in Hitchin and knew Morgan Davies well – she definitely approved of my choice of boutique! She would also later provide me with a gorgeous flower crown and shower bouquet which set off the dress perfectly.
The winter wonderland wedding…
Our wedding day was in December 2016 – I had always wanted a winter wedding and my fiancé, Alun, agreed that it would be really special to have a wedding close to Christmas. We had a church ceremony in the beautiful Norman Church of my hometown, St Marys Church, Ware, followed by a wonderful reception at Tewinbury Farm in Welwyn.
The day itself was cold and misty, but it made the whole day wonderfully atmospheric and the weather actually complimented our winter woodland theme. We chose Tewinbury as our reception venue very early on– we fell in love with its rustic feel, and once decorated with fairy lights and wooden boxes filled with ivy and eucalyptus, it really was the venue I had dreamed about.
We had 100 people at our wedding ceremony and a further 30 for the evening, where we and our guests danced the night away to our amazing funk band, Roadrunner. It truly was the most wonderful day of love, laughter and amazing fun!
What would you say to help another bride-to-be find her dream dress?
I cannot thank the team at Morgan Davies enough for all their wonderful support and guidance – they made the experience of dress shopping hugely enjoyable and completely stress-free. They made sure to contact me at every stage of the process and were always accommodating when it came to appointments and fittings. I have already recommended Morgan Davies to any of my recently-engaged friends, especially those who want a beautiful selection of unique dresses and wonderful service. They helped me to feel the best I had ever felt on my special day.
Thank you, Beth, for taking the time to talk to us about your special day. You were an absolute dream throughout the entire experience and we wish you all the best for the future. You looked beautiful.
