So many of our lovely brides visit us in Hitchin from all areas of the country to see our beautiful collections including Anna Kara and Halfpenny London. So we thought we would give our brides-to-be a ‘guide to Hitchin’ to make their visit as enjoyable as possible. Hitchin is a lovely market town in Hertfordshire with plenty of independent shops, restaurants and cafes. It has a large market square and a thriving antiques and general market.
Getting To Hitchin
Hitchin has a mainline train station linked to London, Cambridge and Peterborough and then links north. It is easy to pop into a cab outside the station and come straight down to Morgan Davies in Hitchin town centre. If you are driving then we are conveniently situated in between the M1 and the A1, so very easy to get to. Hitchin has several town centre car parks that are close to us so you won’t have to walk far. Our full contact details and a map can be found here.
Time for Coffee?
We think that Hitchin must have some of the best coffee shops around. Just a few doors away from us on Sun Street is Hitchin Coffee Lab. Great tasting coffee and the most delicious cakes ever! Pop in for some refreshment if you’re a little early for your appointment.
Another of our favourites for coffee is Halseys of Hitchin. Open since 1864 Halseys was one of Hitchin’s first grocers, and still supplies fabulous foodie treats from their Deli. On a fine day you can settle at one of their pavement tables, or go inside to find a cosy corner.
Ladies That Lunch
If you would like something a bit more substantial than a coffee, then Hitchin has some very tasty restaurants to try. For a more casual lunch go to The Groundworks inspired by London eateries and middle-eastern cafés, they offer a menu of extremely tasty lunches. Always buzzing and busy, The Groundworks has a great atmosphere.
Another great place to eat, just a minute away from Morgan Davies, is Vegan restaurant Chia who serve some of the most delicious plant-based food around. Pop in after your appointment to feel super healthy and virtuous!
