We recently welcomed a new Bridal Stylist to our Hitchin team. Brides-to-be meet Beth McCallion:
Hi Beth! So, where did your journey begin in the retail sector?
My experience of working with luxury brands began at a jeweller in Luton. My role was to advise customers when choosing engagement and wedding rings, along with other high-quality accessories. It was here that I discovered my interest in the wedding industry.
What made you want to approach Morgan Davies?
At my previous job, most of my customers were yet to start the wedding planning process, meaning I could only work with their preference, and not the overall event. When researching into the role of a bridal stylist, I saw the opportunity to see and advise on the bridal journey from start to finish. Once I found out that Morgan Davies were hiring, applying was a no brainer as their collections looked incredible!
Agreed! If you had to pick a favourite designer from our Hitchin boutique, who would it be and why?
Definitely Maggie Sottero. I absolutely love the way one of their designs, Caroline nicely balances the use of traditional and modern lace. I’m also obsessed with Vanessa by Anna Kara I love the fun, pretty look of the dress, mixed with the boho-style material and heart embellishments. So romantic!
What’s your go-to advice for brides-to-be when looking for their dream dress?
Be opened minded. 90% of the brides who walk through the door will pick something completely different to what they first envisioned as their ideal style. The Morgan Davies team is backed with years of experience, so you can absolutely trust our advice and leave feeling confident in your choice.
What’s the best part of being a Bridal Stylist?
Being able to see the bride’s journey from start to finish is incredibly rewarding. I studied my degree in psychology, so after learning about human reaction, it’s interesting to see all the emotions experienced during a consultation. It’s also true that as a stylist, we can easily recognise the moment a customer tries on a dress and knows it’s the one.
And finally, what trending style are you most excited about?
Long trains and the dramatic effect they can have on a dress. I love it!
